Pagerank still unstable
Last week many blogs' pageranks were updated by Google. Mine weren't excluded except for this blog which remained at PR2. But early this week, it rose to PR3. I was happy but that happiness was short-lived coz when I checked its PR today, it fell back again to 2.
I hope this isn't the final ranking yet. I'm hoping it will rise again in the days to come.
Doing business in the internet
November 1, 2007The internet has made a tremendous change in the way people market their products. With internet, the world has become smaller, business has no boundaries and the market has become wider! That’s the reason why more and more businesses are adapting with the change and putting their products and services online.
How do you start an online business? First thing is to look for cheap ecommerce hosting company that will host your website. Then create and design your site just like you would in real. After that, you set-up an online store equipped with shopping carts to allow consumers to purchase goods and services with the use of credit cards or other similar payment method.
The work doesn’t end there. Philippines’ yearend forex reserves at $31B
There is no stopping the dollars from coming in to the Philippines. Inquirer.net has published it's Nov. 2 issue already (yes! they're 7 hours ahead from me) regarding the strong inflow of dollars especially this fourth quarter of the year when cash remittances from overseas Filipino workers is high (that has been the usual trend).
"The central bank, Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas (BSP), expects the country’s foreign exchange reserves surging to $31 billion by the end of the year, given strong inflows expected in the fourth quarter, a BSP official said."
Other sources of strong dollar inflow for this year came from foreign direct investment and portfolio investments.
Saving on Christmas shopping
My mother-in-law visited us last night. She stayed till almost 11 playing with our baby and also chatting with hubby. One of the questions she asked was our plans for Christmas; if we wanted to celebrate it with them or just by ourselves. She also asked what our Christmas wishes were.
She probably wants to start gift-shopping already. Honestly we haven’t made plans for the Christmas yet. But then we might as well join them for the Christmas dinner just like the usual. This reminds me to start writing down our shopping list and gift-hunting too.
Christmas is probably the season where people spend huge amount of money for gifts. It’s a once a year holiday so why not splurge, some would say. But for those who are tight on budget, there are actually many ways to save on gifts.
If you go to couponkathy.com, you will find lots of coupons which you can use to get discounts on major merchants. For example, by using the newegg coupons, you can Get the Latest Back to School Gear at Low Prices at Newegg.com with FREE SHIPPING or with eBags coupons 10% Off All eBags branded products plus free shipping over $35 at eBags.com. These discounts when added all up totals to plenty of savings on items purchased.
Why not avail of these coupon codes for your gifts!
Peso against dollar; getting stronger?
The peso is getting stronger! Well, or is it just the dollar weakening? Even here in Czech, crowns (their monetary unit) is also strong compared to dollar.
For OFWs earning in dollars, this is a big blow to them. There was an email circulating among Filipinos to boycott sending money back home on November 1 to see if it will have an effect on the dollar rate. That's today! But it's holiday. hmmmm….

November na!
The first two days of November sends people in Phils. to cemeteries to honor and remember their dead loved ones. November 1 celebrates the feast of All Saint's Day, honoring the souls of saints and martyrs, both known and unknown. Loved ones can be considered uknown saints if they’ve lived a life of goodness. Then comes the next days which is All Soul’s Day commemorating the souls of those faithful departed who aren’t yet purified and needs prayers to attain eternal glory.
Don’t forget to say a prayer for the dead, but more importantly show your love and care to those who are alive while you still can and while they’re still around, living and breathing!
