Let love in

October 3, 2007

Where have I been?  I haven't been listening to mainstream music for some time that I've missed a lot in the world of music. Ha! Not that I regret it.

Anyway shameful as it may sound it's only now that I've heard this song from Goo Goo Dolls "Let Love In" from the album of the same title, released in the year 2006.  It's not even that new anymore considering that we're in the last quarter of 2007.  :P I thought the Goo is already out of circulation.  It's good to know they're still around playing their wonderful music.

You're the only one I ever believed in
The answer that could never be found
The moment you decided to let love in
Now I'm banging on the door of an angel
The end of fear is where we begin
The moment we decided to let love in

Poor love, let him IN!

Trick or treat!

Halloween is already next month!  I bet parents and kids are busy looking for Halloween costumes for the big day especially if it’s kiddo’s first Halloween party or trick or treat experience.  Both parents and children are excited with the preparations.

It’s fun to be a kid again, dressed up in a favorite costume of a super hero, a villain, a fairy or princess going around the neighborhood and getting all the candies and goodies for free!.  Oh and who can ignore the scary costumes of witches and vampires?

Online shopping with shopping cart

These days online shopping is the way to go.  Many people patronize this method of purchasing products because they can do it from their offices or from the comfort of their homes without traveling.  It saves on time which is convenient especially when you’re busy and saves on gas too.

Shopping online is made easy with the use of shopping cart.  It basically works the same way as with the real shopping cart we have in supermarkets.  With a shopping cart, buyers can easily place their bought goods in the virtual cart.

Heroes can wait

They are raving about Heroes (here and here), the ala X-men TV series at NBC which is back on its new season last week.  What can I say?  Though I’ve wanted to watch it with hubby, we can’t just find time to free our hands from the baby.  We alternately take care of our little one, so watching it together is a challenge.

We’ve already downloaded the new episode at torrentz.com.  It’s only waiting for us to view it. Sigh!

Dreamin’

It's a good day! Though as usual I still lack sleep, I'm feeling happy.  Why?  Something's brewing, something's brewing really good!  I won't divulge it yet but for now I'm one happy person. :)

Dreamin' - it all starts from there.  I hope it will come true.  With the months passing by so fast, one day it will be December na! Hayyyy!  I just have to escape :)

If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.
- William Arthur Ward

It is good to dream, but it is better to dream and work.
Faith is mighty, but action with faith is mightier.

- Thomas Robert Gaines

I'm working on it!!!

Romance in books

October 2, 2007

My HS friends and I used to daydream what our love story would be like. Having seen and read on TV and from books about romantic stories easily makes any girl wish she’d also have a fairy-tale like or a drama-filled romance.  Mine didn’t come until much later in life.

One romantic experience I’ll never forget with him was a date at the top of a mountain with the view of the city below us. Though it was a short moment, I enjoyed the time spent with him, talking and eating under the blanket of stars and cool mountain breeze. I just find it romantic.

Talking about romance, I remember the romance novels my sisters used to bring home and read. The pocket book Mills & Boon were very popular among students back then.  Girls would swap these books among their friends. That’s probably why almost every girl at school are always dreaming about their own romantic love story.

But Mills & Boon is still very much around until now.  In fact, they have an online store where readers can order online.  Their online bookstore offers romance books in different genres – from modern, to historical to intrigue and super romance.  Browse over their collection, choose a book and order.  Then enjoy reading!

Look around

Getting stuck in the traffic can sometimes be an invitation to look around, see things and realize they exist.  We tend to be always in the rush that we ignore the beauty, people, love, weather, etc. around us.

Looking around is the first step to discovering and appreciating new things.

What have you discovered lately by looking around?

buildings
This pic was taken while waiting for the traffic lights to turn GREEN.  At my left are modern buildings in Praha.  I love the simplicity and the color combination of that building with red & orange accent.

DIY home improvement

A friend whose house hasn’t been fully finished for many years wanted her living room floor to be covered with tiles.  Since she can not afford the cost to buy and install wood and parquet floors, she bought vinyl tiles instead which cost much cheaper.  To further save on expenses, she let her children install the tiles.  She realized her mistake after few months seeing the wear and tear on the flooring.   Though the initial cost was less, in the end the result showed that she’ll spend much if she replaces the vinyl tiles each time they’re damaged.

She could have read some useful tips on home improvement online and avoided the mistake.  A home improvement site named doityourself.com shows how one can easily install wood and parquet floors following their instructions without hiring workers which can add expenses.  It’s actually one of those do-it-yourself projects that you can do for fun with your family.

With doityourself.com, you’ll find many other home improvement projects which you can do by yourself.  The good news is that this online community with thousands of articles is free.  There are also more than 100 active forums you can join which tackles do-it-yourself projects subjects.   Visit the site, buy the "DoItYourself" DVD and learn more.  As they say “knowledge is power“.  And with more knowledge you get better results and more savings in your home improvement.

New month means…Goodbye Solo

Well October is here and so is autumn.  I've noticed that the leaves are starting to change their colors.  From lush green, they've turned rusty red, brown and golden yellow.

It also means a new Korean drama being featured at d-addicts.  The Korean drama series for October is entitled Goodbye Solo.  Seeding started yesterday Oct. 1 and will end on Oct. 31.  Another love story, another family conflict. I still haven’t decided if I’ll download but it sounds promising from what I read from the forums.

Summary of Goodbye Solo:
This drama attempts to send a message that any human being is beautiful by just existing in this world. People’s desire to have their say in everything, to succeed and to be beautiful stems from their deep-rooted disbelief in themselves. They are unable to love themselves the way they are. The underlying reason of the loss of interest in life is the disappointment with people. But even those who get disappointed with other human beings are negligent in loving their own selves. (more…)

Where do you meet biker singles?

For some people they believe that a relationship where partners have different personalities and likes makes it interesting and long-lasting.  But for others, they believe that having the same interests and being compatible is what makes the relationship tick. For me any of the two is possible.  Each person is different and how one tackles a given situation is different from another.

A dating site whose aim is to bring together singles who are interested in the same subject - adventure, biking and bikes is currently inviting men and women to sign up for free to their online community.  Biker Planet is a place where biker singles get to meet like-minded people for friendship or romance.  You can do an easy search on the thousand of profiles available.  Searches are categorized by location, gender, age and zip code.  Other features are online photos and instant messenger.

So if you’re a bike lover who wants to meet a person with same interest as you have, check out Bike Planet dating site.

north or east

October 1, 2007

Since my sister moved to Finland, I wanted her to come over here for a short visit.  That's impossible with three school kids and a hubby who has just started working in a new company. So I had this wild idea, "how about visiting them on December?" I threw the question to hubby and he just smiled.  It's much colder in Finland than in Cz. coz it's in the north part and he knows how I dread the cold.

If it's cold in north, then let's go to the east!  How about a vacation in Asia?  Well, well… I'm praying that this will come true.  It's been a year since I left home and I'm itching to see my family again.  Also to escape cold Prague!
