Last Sunday during the party I attended, my friends and I we’re talking about vacation to the Philippines.  F is flying home on December 5 for the Christmas holiday and L with her hubby will go there on March for a climb to Mt. Apo and whale-watching. That's right.  Many bloggers especially those who are doing paid blogging are surprised with their google page rank.  Some are irked and some are happy. Eating Korean food

Our friend who celebrated her birthday last week invited us for lunch today.  She served us Korean food.  It was my first time to taste such cuisine.  The food consisted of kim bap, kimchi, egg rolls and beef stew. 

Since I didn't have breakfast that morning, I was so famished that I ate plenty.  Yum!

More calcium, protein, etc. for breastfeeding mothers

This week I injured my right leg joint when I stretched my body right after waking up in the morning. I am used to stretching every time I wake up. This morning, my left arm made a snap when I did my usual rousing-routine.

What’s happening to my bones?  Do I lack calcium?  Does breastfeeding an infant depletes my own supply of calcium? 

One article say that a breast fed infant depends on the mother’s milk for her main source of nutrition.  That’s why the mother needs about 500 extra Kcal/day or more.  She also needs more protein and other vitamins and minerals.  

Is my present diet enough to handle breastfeeding my baby?  I still have to review my daily intake based on the recommended foods:
Milk, cheese, eggs, beans or peanut butter, cereal, carrots, tuna fish and salmon; these foods are rich in calcium, vitamin A, protein, iron…

Surprise me!

Lately dinner has been frozen pizza, sausages and ham which we can easily bake or fry.  By night, usually hubby and I are both tired that we don't have the energy to cook a decent meal.  But tonight being tired of the same food over and over I decided to cook something different.  So it's the "Surprise me" phrase from the movie Ratatouille that inspired me to improvise what whatever we have. 

What about fried rice?  We have left-over rice from last night after all.  That's it, fried rice! I tossed in small slices of ham, fried garlic, minced carrots, sliced tomatoes and eggs into the pan with the rice (not exactly in that order) and viola… we had a delish dinner! And it's nutritious too with the carrots and tomatoes there. 

Every way to display

My sister and I ventured into customized gifts and souvenir business last year .  One of our product was customized printing on plates either designed by our clients or pre-designed by us. The usual print was photos of loved ones or souvenir of important events.  Along with the customized product, we provided the plate display stand so they can readily use and display it.  We had a hard time looking for a supplier who can sell it to us in bulk at a cheap price with an assurance that they can supply to us on time whenever we order.  Our business is on hold for now but I already know what supplier to consider if ever we get back to business.

We’re booked!

Finally after looking high and low for airfare that would fit our budget, our prayers were answered.  Hubby booked us for next year's flight (I'm not yet telling what month) since all flights were full for the Christmas holidays, so we went ahead with our second option. It's really difficult to find cheap fare on peak-season especially at this time, so close to December already.  Had we looked earlier we could have probably find a reasonable fare for December.

Anyway for now we will just have to wait if hubby's application for vacation leave will be approved and at the same time save more money for the planned vacation. Weee!!! I can't wait!

I was invited for a post birthday party of a friend this Sunday.  Since hubby and I were out earlier for some documents to be submitted I took the chance to shop for a gift with him.  I was thinking what to give to my friend.  She recently moved to this flat and living all by herself.  I remember her needing some stuff for her place; from kitchen utensils to linens, pillows, toaster, etc.
