Calamities and accidents - again
March 11, 2011Earthquakes and tsunamis are giving real scare due to recent occurrences in Japan. An earthquake with a magnitude of 8.9! Whew! That’s real strong! These are disasters caused by nature which we cannot prevent, but which we may be able to prepare for, when duly warned. Still, the bottom-line is, they cause sufferings to people.
However, aside from these calamities, accidents - which happen no matter how people are careful - can also cause awful sufferings to the ones concerned. Not if you can get the services of car accident attorney Austin. Expert lawyers who focus their practice on personal injury due to car accidents can be contacted at O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949. Terrible incidents!
What’s happening presently to the world is surely thought-provoking. Earthquakes, tsunamis, flash floods, hail-storms, typhoons/tornadoes of such strength that have not happened yet – these are just few we can mention. The unusual filling up of lakes and big bodies of water of dead fish, which never happened before! And even of dead birds falling from the sky, and scattered on highways and fields!
Are these the signs of the times, which are supposed to preclude the end of times? It could be, as Nature is so unpredictable now. Look at the warmth and coldness of the earth, they don’t follow anymore the usual climate change we have been used to, and which we could predict. Its just so scary!
Nothing new
February 12, 2011The new year has come but what’s new with me? A friend of mine who know lives in Canada would once in awhile be online and ask me what’s new. All I can answer her, is nothing. hehehe
Kids, housechores and my online work are all the things that keep me busy. But this year I am planning to go out of my comfort zone and learn new stuff. How about starting with learning a new language? (: It’s been long overdue actually.
We’ll see if it will materialize…
Beware of accidents!
January 9, 2011Hi everyone, this blog has been silent during the Christmas season; was just so very busy with my two little ones, but wait, even if belated, may I just greet you with a hearty “A blessed merry Christmas and a prosperous happy New Year!”
With the New Year bang and fireworks mania, news during the New Year was bereft with accidents due to these fireworks. Other accidents were due to cars or other motor vehicles driven by persons who have been from late-night parties.
This has made me aware of accidents and their consequences; what to do for those who are involved. Having come across the website of the Law Firm of O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath, which provides free initial consultations for their clients, I’ve known that expert legal advice matters in times where one is involved in an accident. This will affect one’s ability to work, his taking care of his family, and even the payment of his bills. The law firm will provide a Texas truck accident attorney for this particular need. Rest assured they are truly professionals and authorities in legal matters.
End of November
November 30, 2010It’s the last day of November which means Christmas is coming closer and closer, 25 more days to go actually.
Though some people are quite excited about it, the thought of all the gift-buying and parties that needs to be done and attended is suffocating. I’d rather have a simple Christmas spent with family.
The pressure of shopping and spending for gifts starts now!
It’s not all about the looks
November 18, 2010So what if you don’t have a perfect set of teeth or you’re short? Who says you don’t have the right to live as those much blessed in the looks department?
Don’t be dictated by what the society tells. It is how you are inside you that makes you a person, not the looks. Looks don’t last. Remember the beauty queens and the prima donnas way back your high school days? What happened to them now? More than often, they have turned fat, grown white hairs, and lost their teeth.
Accept your own flaws and thank God for whatever you have.
Passive income, anyone?
November 14, 2010As the air is getting colder, we can just imagine those who are getting to work…would it be much better if one has a passive income, where money works for the person, and not the person working for money? Easier said than done, but there is something like that: passive income. One example is: having houses or apartments for rental. Even if you don’t work, money (the rentals) keeps coming every month.

Hurrah manny!
All Pacman’s fans are elated!
He has won again! The Filipinos are proud of Manny, not only for winning the fight but also for showing compassion to his opponent. God bless you Pacman! May you use your talents and blessings to help the Filipino people. Serve well as a congressman and prove to the world that you’re not only good inside the ring but also outside.
An aftermath of the best fight ever
The result of the most-awaited fight of Manny Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito is now not just the talk of the town, but the talk of the whole world!
Many praised Manny for his graciousness. He did not have a killer instinct unlike other boxers who would really like to inflict damage on his opponent. But not him. “Pacquiao: I didn’t want to damage him permanently”. That cut near his eye could even cause blindness for Margarito, and Manny aware of this, did not hit this part anymore, but he even just kept on prancing around, up to the end of the 12th round.
“I didn’t want to hurt him because boxing is not all about killing each other,” Manny also said during a post-fight interview. His coach, Freddie Roach, agreed with him: “I wish they would have stopped the fight.”
The right time to invest
November 13, 2010Now that the prices of precious metals are on the rise, it is a good time to invest. By the appreciation of its value, one can gain from the investment. Gold and silver are two precious metals which are stable for investment, with prices which keep on appreciating with time.
Especially for gold coins and other gold products, it is beneficial to buy them for aside from their value as a unique and solid investment, they are convenient to keep, for their size and shape. Gold really is everybody’s favorite, what with its beauty, and the glitter and magic attributed to it. What are you waiting for? It’s time to buy gold bars now!
A little history of the G-20 and more…
November 12, 2010It was in Berlin, on December 15-16, 1999 that the inaugural meeting of the G-20 took place, hosted by German and Canadian finance ministers.
Its primary mandate is to help in strengthening the international financial structures and providing a venue for dialogue on national policies, international co-operation of financial institutions, and to support growth and development around the global community.
Every year, the G-20 Summit Meeting is held in a different member-country (for 2010, in Seoul, Korea, November 11-12). This is preceded by a Meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, and for this year this was held in Gyeongju, Korea on October 22-23.
To prepare for this Finance Ministers’ meeting, usually two deputies’ meetings are held for extensive technical work, which means workshops, reports and studies on specific issues. This would provide the ministers and governors with the current analysis and insights, for their policy position in the challenges and options that would come up during the G-20 Summit Meeting. For this year, these were held last September 4-5 (Gwangju, Korea) and October 7, USA (Washington, D.C).
We wish you Godspeed, G-20!
What’s the group of 20 (G-20)?
The G-20 Summit Meeting which was held in Seoul, Korea, November 11-12, this year, has just been concluded.
The Group of 20 is a leading forum for our economic development that promotes open and productive discussion between industrial and financial markets on key issues related to global economic stability to benefit the entire community of nations.
It is composed of the Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Republic of Korea, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States of America, with the European Union to complete the list.
For its lofty aspirations, we can only pray for the discussions to have been focused on the aim, and not be disturbed by petty squabbles. Let understanding and a unity of purpose emerge at the end of the day!
Another cold and busy day
October 21, 2010What an autumn! It’s been getting really cold, and at times rainy. Earlier my young daughter went out with her dad to a nearby store to buy food for dinner. When she came back, she told me “it’s really cold!”. But still she enjoyed walking outside. Hubby told me that she was happily singing all the way to the store like she was going to a candy store. It makes me feel bad that I can’t take her out in the playground during the day. I am just soooo lazy to go out in the cold weather. And also I have many things to do at home including my online work. There are many assignments thrown at me, and its a waste if I Iet it go. I need money (who doesn’t?) and I wish I have more so I can buy gold.
In case you don’t know, gold is one of the best ways to preserve your wealth. Even silver is following in closely. If you want your money to grow, invest in gold and other precious metals. You can learn more about it from the US Gold Bureau website.
How Hollywood celebs carry their kids
Yeah, you might ask, HOW?
Let me show you:
Britney Spears with her then baby son, Sean Preston…

Jessica Alba carrying her daughter Honor
and even Jennifer Lopez, carries her daughter the same way…
Why oh why? Is that their trademark? or a code?
I tried carrying my 8 month-old son like that just out of curiousity and it wasn’t even comfortable. hehehe He was too heavy to be carried using one arm.
shoesssss!
October 20, 2010Having a small feet can frustrating when I go shopping. I might like a pair only to find out that they don’t have my size. Argh! It’s so disappointing. I’m glad I was able to find an Asian online store that sells shoes my size. I still don’t know if they’d fit my feet properly, yeah not until my order arrives in 9 days.
I am already excited about it! I can’t waitttt!
Anyway, here are some cute shoes that I like and yeah as always they’re too big for me.
I love the vintage look of those shoes. All of them are by Ariat.
Accutane side effects
September 28, 2010Do you know that accutane is not a good treatment for acne? Here are some of its side effects: abdominal pain, diarrhea (which may be bloody), vomiting, or weight loss, but it may also cause complications outside of the gastrointestinal tract such as skin rashes, arthritis, inflammation of the eye, tiredness, and lack of concentration, to mention some. This element could be in beauty products, especially as it is a common treatment for types of acne, such as the cystic and nodular acne. But the public has an advocate in the persons of accutane injury lawyers to handle Accutane Lawsuit. Trust them, they are competent and are experts in the field.
What’s in store for Pilipinas Win na Win?
Kris Aquino is good subject. The “newsmaker” popular sister of equally-popular Philippine newly-elected president Noynoy Aquino (Benigno S. Aquino III) is leaving the noontime show “Pilipinas Win na Win”. October 1, or this coming Friday, will be her last day as host. “It was a good work & learning experience for me, but it’s time to go,” She was asked to leave to give way to male hosts. Management is maybe trying to look for new faces? Or just try other popular hosts? We’ll have to watch what’s coming – for the fans of the show.
Dependent on power
In a recent post my title was: “Wow Technology”, as how I marvel at the discoveries of men behind science and technology. Without their researches and unrelenting efforts, many of Nature’s power could not have been exposed and would just go unnoticed. Also, the internet offers most of the high-tech advantages we are now used to, but the sad thing here is that it is so dependent on power, meaning it only works if there are no brownouts!!! In some parts of the Philippines this is common. We have to be able to afford a generator.
Let’s start Christmas shopping
Christmas time is fast approaching.
We went to the mall yesterday and it was already selling Christmas decors and plastic trees. With only a few months till the big holiday season, some people are already buying gifts for their loved ones to avoid the Christmas rush.
How about you? Have already made a list what to give to your family and friends? If not yet, you better take a look at the IWC Watches. They have elegant and luxurious collections of timepieces perferct for that special someone in your wife. Made with superb craftsmanship, you can only be assured that you’re getting nothing else but a timepiece of the highest quality.
They say that one of the best gift you can give is time. So why not give your loved one a special one.
Wow technology!
Do you know what is the latest in technology? It’s about harnessing the solar wind and beam the energy to Earth by the use of a satellite. This is more powerful compared to wind power or the conventional solar power. With this method, world’s energy needs could be met 100 billion times over! Focusing the beam though, could be tricky.
“The concept for the so-called Dyson-Harrop satellite begins with a long metal wire loop pointed at the sun. This wire is charged to generate a cylindrical magnetic field that snags the electrons that make up half the solar wind. These electrons get funnelled into a metal spherical receiver to produce a current, which generates the wire’s magnetic field – making the system self-sustaining.”
